Hexbug is a micro-creature toy robot inspired by BEAM technologies. Hexbug has a handful of rather simple behaviors. Once switched on, Hexbug will move forward with a classic alternating tripod gait. If an obstruction touches either of the antennae, or if it detects a loud sound it will back up to the left and then continue forward. The name Hexbug, having said that, has additional to do with the shape of the packaging it is sold in than the quantity of legs it has.
HEXBUG feels its way about sensing objects in its path and avoiding them. And it can even hear! You can control where it scurries via a hand clap, loud noise or table slap. The robotic bug will travel forward until it hits an obstacle or hears a loud noise. It will then backup in a half circle and then move forward in a distinctive direction. HEXBUG comes in 5 distinct shapes and colors: Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, and Echo.
