For starters, the LEGO Creator houses are great. They are properly constructed, can be built 3 several methods, and have a lot of neat characteristics. This set fits that bill. The reason for it is somewhat strange name - 'Apple Tree House'. That is considering there is an apple tree in the yard. :-) The name had me scratching my head until I built the apple tree.
I got this set, amongst others, for my dad. He's in his 70's and cannot get about like he utilized to, but he genuinely enjoys making the Creator houses. Based solely on his knowledge with the construction I believe this set is a small far more hard than some of the others, even bigger sets which he has built. The principal cause is since the roof more than the garage is a couple of bricks lower than the principal roof. This honestly confused my dad. Also, LEGO directions are difficult to follow in some cases. This does not take considerably away from the set. It is quite a lot as entertaining as all the other sets and virtually as fairly.
It has numerous seriously neat touches - satellite dish, basketball goal, lawn mower, and of course an apple tree. :-) It even has a downspout and outside spigote.
My dad stated it must have came with a vehicle to pull into the garage.

I purchased this set for my daugter who just turned 9. I believed it was one of the few that wasn't totally geared to boys. She loved putting it together and now has it displayed in her space. As with all Legos, you can "play" with it gently but some thing generally falls apart although hassle-free adequate to repair. I bought this via the internet given that I was brief on time for shopping around and hadn't noticed it in the stores. But inside a month of purchasing, I did see this set at Toys R Us for cheaper than what I paid! That is what you get for convenience but it was worth it.
