Consumer Reviews

sorry to say to the fans out there that have been waiting for this guy, don't give your hopes up.
just got my pre-order at present from toys r us. absolute rubbish :( been searching forward to this factor for 5 years now, i am truly bummed out. the creators had a really superb concept, but mass production did it no favors. guess i shoulda known superior due to the fact it ended up being a toys r us exclusive. $50 is way also substantially for this factor, $30 might possibly have been a small less difficult to swallow the suffering.
my largest gripe is that it seems to have about as considerably memory as a casio calculator watch... pause 2 seconds to listen to the music, dance for about 5-ten seconds, pause once more, rinse repeat. side by side with the spoon video [...] its not even remotely close. sometimes it looks like it's having epileptic fits...
it's cute to look at, other than that it really is a total waste:
- loud motor (turn that music up if you want to hear it over the motor...)
- jerky movements
- the base appears sturdy adequate, but the touch sensors feels like some thing a kid would break super simply
- TAKES 8 AA BATTERIES (what is this a rc auto from the 80s?)
- the 'bleeps bloops' it tends to make when waking or shutting down are awfully loud and have no volume control
- none of the pictures or videos i've seen on line give you a sense of scale either (at ~1ft high, it really is way larger than i expected)
- touch mode is even worse than music mode... most of the time you have gotta hold down the base to be in a position to push the sensor hard enough for it to respond.
i will attempt to leave a video overview tomorrow, to it to perform in music mode requires the volume to be way too loud for this time of night... :/ might be ok if you're djing at a club or party, but this is absolutely not workplace friendly!
guess i may well hack it and see if i can strengthen it in anyway. (note: turning it off is already an improvement...)
sorry for the bad news absolutely everyone :( possibly they will make a 2. version, i'd gladly pay $100+ to get one particular that worked adequately.

We've had the Keepon considering that the Sunday immediately after it came out and we've been playing with it daily. My kids really like it, they assume it is hilarious! They are playing with it in touch mode, it squeaks and tends to make funny noises, it reminds me of R2D2 sounds. He repeats some issues you do, and moves around to look at you (following your voice). Here's a little clip of him rockin' out in front of the computer, followed by a bit of touch-mode play. It really is too poor he did not come with USB so that he could use power from the laptop or computer, considering that then I would leave him on all the time, it is enjoyable to watch him dance. Keepon does have A/C so you can acquire an adapter separately to save batteries. He does tend to have a quirky pause every when in a whilst but it is not such a massive deal as other reviewers have stated. He just continues dancing away! Keepon is durable since has taken a beating from the tiny a single and is nevertheless fully functional. Correct, it is not the Keepon Pro as on YouTube, but it is nonetheless a wonderful toy. Fun to watch, enjoyable to play with, entertaining - so far so excellent
