We gave these to our cousin's kids (boys age 4 and 2) and they loved them. They were all about the sound effects and the "crunching" their other toys. Sure, the sound effects got on their Mom's nerves after a little while, but that is why I didn't buy it for my kids ;) Overall great fun.

First off the noise it makes is annoying after 3-4 minutes. I tried to shut it off but couldnt. The box says sturdy for digging. My 5 year old grandson tried dirt in my yard and it couldnt get any dirt unless I dug it it up first. The teeth started to bend and it looked like it was going to break. Then it got full of dirt and tried to clean it. I was afraid to put water on it because of the battery and the electronics in it. He lost interest in it after 30 minutes of play time.The next weekend we took it to the beach. Sand was a lot easier BUT the shovel could not hold the sand long enough for him to move it around. I tried it also - held very little sand - was constantly falling out of the sides and teeth. My grandson quickly gave it up for a pail and shovel.This toy is not what it claims to be and DO NOT recommend it. Total waste of money.
