Product Description

Editorial Review
That iMAgiNiff was developed by two brothers (in Australia) makes perfect sense, because this is a board game you'll want to share with family and friends. It's simple to play. A set of names is chosen, usually the name of every player plus those of several absent friends. When it's your turn, one name is selected as the subject of the question. You pick a card--one of hundreds--that poses a question and six possible answers (for example, "Imaginiff _____ were a crime. Which would he/she be?"). Read the question aloud, plugging in the subject's name. Then read out the six answers (in this case, they range from "homicide" to "indecent exposure"). Each player picks an answer to fit the subject; those who have picked the most popular answer move forward. But though you win by advancing, winning is obviously not the point: laughter and arguments are. The questions on the cards range from the ridiculous ("Imaginiff _____ were a body part.") to the provocative ("Imaginiff _____ had to decide which of the following values is most important."). The game is a fun cross between Scruples and True Colors. --Elisa Murray
How well do you really know your family and friends? Imaginiff's questions ask what players think they know about each other, such as where a certain player would most like to go on a first date. The most popular answer becomes the winning one! This edition of Imaginiff contains all-new questions to maximize the fun. Buffalo Games. Ages: 12+

Consumer Evaluations

We picked up this game at our neighborhood toy retailer, preparing to play it with the kids (middle-school age) when we have family members night. iMAgiNiff has proved a larger hit with adults than kids--although the kids beg to play it too.
Players write their name on segments around the game board. If fewer than eight people today play, they add the names of folks they all know--or a public figure or character with whom they are familiar. With every turn, a player rolls the dice and moves left or perfect along the name segments. The name that player lands on becomes the topic of the next "think about if" question. Scoring depends on how a number of players pick out the similar response. Those who win a point for their response get to progress a space toward the final objective. Below particular circumstances, a player can try to get an added point by attempting to match just one other player's response. This twist offers an interesting opportunity to obtain out whether or not you and your spouse/top friend/kid/etc. genuinely believe alike.
A massive part of the fun is finding a likelihood to playfully choose on fellow players by voting on what you believe they would do in certain situations or what phrase ideal describes them. Some of the choices are dead on and genuinely hilarious!
Discovering how pals and family members see you at times needs a great sense of humor. For instance, when my name came up, the question was, "Picture if a doctor told XXX that she necessary even more workout, what would she do?" My answer: yoga. Preferred answer: Get a second opinion! How embarassing to be so accurately pegged!
As one other reviewer mentioned, some potential responses can involve innuendo. (No queries are overtly dirty--just the minds playing the game.) Even when you try to retain a specific sense of decorum, quite often it really is just impossible. When, a friend who highly openly complains that her husband is not sufficiently attentive in the bedroom was the topic of a question. The question was "Visualize if XXX was a song, what song would she be?" The second selection was "I Can't Get No Satisfaction." Who knows what the other selections had been--we were doubled over laughing. I am not positive how many of the kid players understood why we believed this was so funny, but the vote was unanimous.
Speaking of ages, the youngest player that I consider we have successfully involved was ten years old. Younger players can realize some questions, such as "Envision if XXX had been a automobile, what would he be? A sports vehicle. A pickup. A Bug. and so on." But references to films, songs, history and other cultural events would be over younger players' heads.

Definitely fun game! Took only minutes for me and my friends to understand (HATE reading long, complicated directions). Believed it was genuinely neat that we could include names of people today who weren't even there. The perfect portion is that there are no suitable or wrong answers...the most well known opinion is what counts. We had some fairly funny arguments about what household appliance many people thought I was, or what fruit my husband was. It was fun to hear the causes why consumers pick what they did -- you essentially discover a tiny about your pals and about what your pals feel of you (in a Fun way)! Two thumbs up!
