My two year old loves this! My kiddo is dexterous like you would not believe, and has a passion for opening and closing doors as nicely as removing covers and lids (electrical socket security plugs, the backs of remotes, modify purses, bottle tops, infant wipes) and opening clasps (wallet, watches, bracelets). If your child is the sort who's normally searching for new and exciting strategies to raise your blood pressure with feats of exquisite motor control, this latchboard is a fantastic way to redirect that power and curiousity.
I bear in mind reading some horrified parent exclaim that perhaps teaching young youngsters to open latches and locks is a unsafe thought, but realistically speaking - the latches featured right here quite possibly are not applied in a safety capacity anyway. (Unless you hide your dynamite behind a miniature chain locked door. And you may well want to rethink that.)
The issue is also practically indestructable. I can say this with confidence due to the fact it was "tested" by the brats subsequent door, and those boys could destroy a padded cell. The colors and photos are vibrant and appealing, also it's remarkably properly created.
My only beef is the price of Melissa and Doug goods, but considering that it really is hand made I can understand why it's required. Maintain up the fine perform, guys.

This toy is surely a winner. Our 21 month old son loves it and will play for it typically. He in particular loves the door with the 6 goldfish.
My only complaint is that I really feel that the 1st two doors were Extremely hard to open. I had to have my dad "execute surgery" on them and loosen them up. I'm not even confident how he did it but they're nice and simple and easy to move now. I cannot visualize even a 4 or five year old getting able to move those 2 the way they had been. Possibly I just got a seriously difficult 1? The other 4 doors had been superb from Day 1 even though.
You can do a lot of mini games with this toy - like have your youngster count the animals for you, tell you the colors of the houses, etc.
